2:57 AFTERNOON UPDATE: Woman injured in Scottsville Road wreck

GLASGOW — A Scottsville woman was injured Thursday morning after a one-vehicle wreck, according to a Barren County Sheriff's Office press release.

At approximately 9:53 a.m., Chelsey L. Shields, 19, was traveling north on Scottsville Road, about 11 miles south of Glasgow, when she lost control of her 2000 Pontiac passenger car because a wheel came off the rear of the vehicle, according to the BCSO statement. The vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck a line of trees and brush before coming to a stop, according to the statement.

Barren-Metcalfe EMS transported her to T.J. Samson Community Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, according to the statement.

Deputy Kevin Wilson investigated the accident and was assisted by the Austin Tracy Volunteer Fire Department.
