The GPD had full access to the building as of April 1, per the lease agreement. But Chief Guy Turcotte had been plotting out detailed plans for the building weeks before that.
He said Friday afternoon that he had personally applied the primer and paint on the housing for the sign that faces East Main and Broadway streets. Over the course of the week, the city’s Department of Public Works had lent a few hands to get concrete poured at the front entrance to make it handicapped accessible, but the railing hadn’t been added yet. Lettering and logos had been affixed to the front door and adjoining windows.
A yellow “100” is prominently placed above the door, plainly marking the address of 100 S. Broadway St.
