11:54 MORNING UPDATE: BCSO warns of driveway scam

GLASGOW — The Barren County Sheriff’s Office has received several complaints of a possible scam in the area.

Area residents have been approached at their homes by a young man driving a Ford pickup truck, wanting to seal or asphalt driveways, according to a BCSO statemen. The man states that he has been doing work in the area, and has extra material he needs to use. The subject does estimates on a linear-foot basis, but after the work is done, he charges by the square foot, according to the statement.

This subject was in the area last year, and got several residents on the scam, according to the statement.

If you are contacted by someone in reference to doing work, and feel it is a possible scam, contact the sheriff’s office at 270-651-2771 or call the Tip Line at 270-646-8771. After hours, the BCSO can be contacted through the dispatch center at 270-651-5151.
