Jessie Thomas, a local horticulturist, taught those who turned out for the class how to rid their gardens of insects and weeds, as well as how to prevent the spread of disease.

Pat Conroy of Lucas, who moved to Barren County two years ago from northern California, was on hand to learn about the bugs and such locally.
