2:17 AFTERNOON UPDATE: Man charged with DUI

GLASGOW —

A Glasgow man was arrested Tuesday night after running a stop sign, according to a Barren County Sheriff's Office press release.

Deputy Chris Wyatt observed a 1999 white Ford passenger car run fail to stop at Park City-Glasgow Road and Dripping Springs Road; he conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the driver, according to the BCSO statement.

The driver, Kelly Franklin, 42, was arrested and charged with disregarding a stop sign, driving on a DUI-suspended license and operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, second offense, according to the statement.

He was released Wednesday from the Barren County Detention Center on a $750 unsecured bond, according to the jail website.
