8:30 MORNING UPDATE: Some MCNP roads now open

MAMMOTH CAVE NATIONAL PARK —

Many roads at Mammoth Cave National Park are closed at this time because of snow and black ice, but park crews have cleared Mammoth Cave Parkway and the Brownsville Road, according to a news release.
 
Park staff plan to open the visitor center and hotel at 10 a.m. Cave tours will be delayed until the roads and trails to cave entrances can be deemed safe for travel.
 
Green River Ferry remains closed because of high water.
