As an aid to business owners, Rowland Insurance Agency Inc. conducted two healthcare reform seminars on Wednesday to alert business owners of the pending changes with the Affordable Care Act.
Rowland Insurance Agency Inc. is an equity partner with Keystone Insurers Group and is able to access their resources and wealth of information about the recent healthcare reform. Billy Bridwell, vice president of the Keystone Insurers Group benefits division, led the seminar at the T.J. Health Pavilion, instructing local business owners on what they needed to do to ensure compliance with the Affordable Care Act, which officially goes into effect on Jan. 1, 2014.
“This is really a big deal,” Bridwell said. “It will impact the checkbook of your business and your employees.”
There are several steps employers must take to be compliant and the majority of the compliance violations fall on the employers to pay. Bridwell outlined a few concepts that employers need to know.
