Barren County schools locked down as a precautionary measure

The Barren County Schools located on Trojan Trail were placed on a lockdown Tuesday morning following a perceived threat by an Allen County man.

Bo Matthews, Barren County Schools superintendent, said he received information from the Barren County Sheriff’s Office around 11:15 a.m. about a perceived threat and was advised to lockdown Barren County High School, Trojan Academy, Barren County Middle School, the Barren County Area Technology Center and the College Street Campus as a precautionary measure.

Detective John Rose of the Allen County Sheriff’s Office said a domestic violence order was issued against the Allen County man in Allen County Family Court this morning and he became “very distraught.”
