9:45 MORNING UPDATE: Tennessee fugitive captured in Cave City

CAVE CITY — A fugitive from Tennessee was captured Monday morning in Cave City, according to a press release from the Kentucky State Police.

Anthony G. Carpenter, 53, of Hendersonville, Tenn., was taken into custody at the Days Inn in Cave City at about 6:50 a.m. after state police were contacted earlier Monday by Hendersonville police about the possible whereabouts of Carpenter.

He is charged with being a fugitive from another state and was lodged in the Barren County Detention Center. Carpenter is wanted in Tennessee for agravated assault (domestic).

The investigation in Kentucky is being led by Trooper Joel Huff. He was assisted in the arrest by Cave City Police Department and Post 3 personnel.
