Barren County Area Technology Center launches new pre-apprentice program

GLASGOW — The Barren County Area Technology Center was named as one of 11 area technology centers in Kentucky that will pilot a high school pre-apprenticeship program.

The Tech Ready Apprentices for Careers in Kentucky program (TRACK) was formed through a cooperative effort with the Kentucky Department of Education Office of Career and Technical Education and the Kentucky Labor Cabinet. Mike Donta, Supervisor of Apprenticeship for the Kentucky Labor Cabinet said this program was formed from the feedback of many employers today that have said they have a hard time finding skilled workers to fill needed positions.
