Lile named as new Metcalfe Superintendent

GLASGOW — Dr. Benny Lile was named as the new Metcalfe County Schools superintendent at special meeting Tuesday night.

Lile currently serves as the director of technology and instruction for the Barren County Schools. He has served at the Barren County Schools for 19 years. He's been the director of instruction for 16 years and the director of technology was added to his role three years ago.

Lile worked as seventh and eighth grade teacher at North Metcalfe Elementary for seven years when he began his career in education 28 years ago. He is also a Metcalfe County High School graduate.

His contract as the Metcalfe County Schools superintendent will begin on July 1.
