Glasgow Police Department makes felony arrests

GLASGOW — The Glasgow Police Department made various felony arrests recently.

Harold L. Shirley, 62, of Glasgow, was arrested Dec.13 by GPD Officer Brandon Fletcher and charged with two counts of  first-degree possession of controlled substance, opiates; drug paraphernalia, buy/possess; and prescription of controlled substance not in proper container, first offense, according to a GPD citation.

On Monday evening, he remained lodged in the BC Detention Center in lieu of a $6,000 bail credit with cash bond, according to the jail website.

Terrell L. Johnson, 24, of Glasgow, was arrested Dec. 14 by GPD Officer Steven Shields and charged with probation violation for felony offense; endangering the welfare of a minor; driving DUI on a suspended license, third offense; trafficking controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school; and trafficking in marijuana, less than 8 ounces, first offense, according to the BC Detention Center website.

On Monday evening, he remained lodged in the BC Detention Center in lieu of a $2,500 cash bond, according to the jail website.

Quinton K. Bryant, 29, of Bowling Green and India F. McFarlan, 29, of Bowling Green, were arrested Thursday by GPD Officer Ashley Jones and charged with second-degree robbery, according to the GPD citation.

In the citation, Jones stated she went to the Walmart area after a caller said a female was “mugged in the parking lot” of Walmart by a male wearing a camouflage print jacket. Witnesses allegedly saw Bryant take  a woman’s purse, the citation stated. Julie Anne Williams, GPD public affairs officer, told Jones she witnessed the same event, according to the citation. Williams followed behind the suspect’s car. Jones stated Bryant and McFarlan were arrested after Jones initiated a traffic stop.

Bryant and McFarlan were released from the BC Detention Facility on Friday. They each had a $10,000 surety bond.

Jessie D. Shipley, 21, of Glasgow, was served an arrest warrant Friday by GPD Officer Jabin McGuire for alcohol intoxication in a public place, first and second offense; second-degree disorderly conduct; third-degree terroristic threatening; third-degree criminal mischief; and third-degree assault on police officer or probation officer, according to the jail website.

On Monday evening, he remained in the BC Detention Center on a $6,000 cash bond, according to the website.
