Two people were injured in an accident on Interstate 65 on Sunday night.
Terrell A. Sublett, 18, of Elizabethtown, and the driver of a second vehicle, Ronald Grimes, 59, of New Castle, Pa., were transported to Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown for treatment.
State police said Sublett and Grimes were both traveling northbound on I-65 at the 74 mile marker when Sublett attempted to pass Grimes’ 2004 tractor trailer in the left lane.
He lost control of the 1999 Honda he was driving and drove into the northbound shoulder where it struck a tree, authorities said.
Sublett’s vehicle came back onto the road and struck Grimes’ tractor trailer, causing Grimes to cross into the median and come to a rest in the southbound lanes, police said. Sublett’s vehicle came to rest on the northbound shoulder of the road.
