Our program this Thursday will be Students of the Month from Barren County and Glasgow High School.
Steve Newberry gave our devotional last Thursday. Enjoy the moment, the trip and not the destination is the thing. Julie Pate is in charge of our devotional this Thursday.
Our fellowship report was given by Jerry Carter. Guests included Jennifer Jordan, guest of Jerry Carter; Peggy Goodman, guest of Charles A. III; Ronnie Graves, guest of Paul Haskins; and Scott Harper, guest of Jerry W. Ralston. Other guests were Amelia Stockton, Ammelia Arnett, Anecia Cobb, Bethany Steinhaus, Chandler Taylor, Cheisy Mather, Christina South, Courtney Swindle, Culin Tipps, Emily Hogan, Emily Rolts, Felica Fisher, Jamison Glover, Jon Allen, Kyle Pickett, Michael Bradley, Sara Proffitt, Seth Estes, Shaylin McGuire, Spencer Bradley, Tru Boards and Victovic Jordan. Dade Luckett from the Louisville club was our visiting Rotarian.
Our program last week was an ensemble of students from Glasgow High School under the direction of Todd Woodward. Lisa Woodward provided the music. If you want to hear some great music for the season you should take advantage of the Madrigal Feast at First United Methodist Church tonight, Dec. 11, at 6:30 p.m. Please call Glasgow High School at 651-8801 or Debbie Biggers at 678-3562 for more information.
Thanks to Henry Royse for introducing and sharing this program with the club.
The next time you go shopping and see the Salvation Army kettle with the volunteers ringing the bell for needy people, please give. As one man said when he gave: “A dollar may not mean much to me but it means a lot for a lot of people!” Been giving that statement a lot of thought and he is right. Just think, just around town, if everyone put one dollar in the kettle, they would not miss it but look what those dollars could do!
Finally, talking about the holidays, I leave you with this:
A man goes to the psychiatrist and says “What’s wrong with me, I'm afraid of Santa” and the psychiatrist says, “You must be Claus-trophobic.”
