HORSE CAVE — Kentucky Repertory Theatre will open the side–splitting Southern farce “Christmas Belles” on Friday at 7:30 p.m. with a reception preceding the performance at 6:45 p.m. A church Christmas pageant spins wildly out of control as three squabbling sisters, Frankie, Twink and Honey Raye Futrelle, try to rein in the mayhem. Amidst an ailing Santa, a vengeful sheep and a reluctant Elvis impersonator, a family secret emerges that just might derail the entire production. “Christmas Belles” will run from Friday through Dec. 21. Auditions set for next FOBP production Auditions for Far Off Broadway Players’ production of the comedy “Steel Magnolias” will be Friday, from 5 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Glasgow High School cafeteria and Monday from 5 to 9 p.m. in the Glasgow High School band room. If someone cannot make it at this these times, or has questions, please e-mail Denise Johnson at johnssd1@wku.edu The play will open Feb. 20 at the Plaza Theatre. Other dates for the show are Feb. 21 and 22. These will be cold auditions so you will not need to have anything prepared or memorized. The cast of characters is as follows: Truvy, 40ish, owner of the beauty shop; Annelle, 19, beauty shop assistant; Clairee, 66ish, widow of former mayor; Shelby, 25, prettiest girl in town; M’Lynn, 50ish, Shelby’s mother; Ouiser, 66ish, wealthy curmudgeon.
