Barren County Circuit Court processed eight plea deals before the Thanksgiving holiday last week. Five people pleaded guilty to drug-related offenses. In Metcalfe County court, an Edmonton woman pleaded guilty to 16 total counts of sex-related crimes.
Barren County
Pleas:
The following pleas were entered in Barren Circuit Court on Monday, Nov. 19:
- David Dewayne Byrd, 32, of Glasgow, pleaded guilty to charges of attempting to manufacture methamphetamine, possession of anhydrous ammonia in unapproved container, possession of methamphetamine precursor, receiving stolen property (firearm), possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, first offense. Sentencing is set for Dec. 17.
- Barry Garrison, 44, of Scottsville, pleaded guilty to charges of possession of controlled substance, first degree (methamphetamine), possession of drug paraphernalia, first offense, and prescription controlled substance in improper container. Sentencing is set for Dec. 3.
- Douglas Lynn Groce, 47, of Park City, pleaded guilty to charges of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Sentencing is set for Dec. 17.
- Gregory Kingrey, 41, of Glasgow, pleaded guilty to charges of possession of controlled substance, first degree (methamphetamine). It was noted that he is eligible for drug court.
- Pamela Sue Marsh, 39, of Glasgow, pleaded guilty to charges of theft by unlawful taking over $300. Sentencing is set for Dec. 3.
- Robert Leo Butch Martin, 55, of Glasgow, pleaded guilty to charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, second offense. Sentencing is set for Dec. 3.
- Tara Lynn Childress Reed, 35, of Cave City, pleaded guilty to charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, first offense. The defendant was sentenced to 12 months and granted her request for probation.
- David Earl White, 46, of Cave City, pleaded guilty to charges of wanton endangerment, first degree, three counts; operating on a suspended/revoked operator’s license and leaving the scene of an accident. Sentencing is set for Dec. 17.
Sentencings:
- Deborah Leigh Courtney, 46, of Glasgow, was sentenced in two separate cases based on her earlier guilty pleas to charges of burglary, third degree, and theft by unlawful taking over $300, two counts. The defendant was sentenced to one year and granted her request for probation.
- Sandra Michelle Kerr, 36, of Cub Run, was sentenced to three years, based on her earlier guilty plea to charges of theft by unlawful taking over $300. Her request for probation/diversion was granted.
- Joshua Paul Lynch, 27, of Glasgow, was sentenced to three years in two separate cases based on an earlier guilty plea to charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, second offense, two counts. The defendant’s request for probation/diversion was granted.
Metcalfe County
Pleas:
The following pleas were entered in Metcalfe Circuit Court on Tuesday, Nov. 20:
- Jeffrey L. Dugger, 45, of Edmonton, pleaded guilty to the charges of burglary, third degree; theft by unlawful taking over $300; criminal mischief, first degree; and persistent felony offender, second degree. Sentenc-ing is set for Dec. 18.
- Tracy Houchens, 30, of Edmonton, pleaded guilty to charges of sodomy, second degree, nine counts; and rape, second degree, seven counts. Sentencing is set for Jan. 29.
- Tammy Geralds, 28, of Edmonton, pleaded guilty to charges of theft by unlawful taking over $300. Probation is approved based on the condition that she make full restitution. Sentencing is set for Dec. 18.
Dismissals:
- Tony Houchens, 37, of Glasgow, was originally indicted for complicity to sodomy, second degree. After the victim recanted his initial report of Houchen’s involvement in the abuse he sustained, the Commonwealth moved to dismiss the charge and the Court sustained the motion.
