Man arrested on drug charges
Jeremy L. Scott, 25, of Glasgow, was arrested on drug charges Thursday morning.
According to a Barren County Sheriff’s Department release, a deputy responded to a call of a suspicious acting person on Whites Chapel Road.
When Deputy Steve Runyon arrived, Scott exited the vehicle he was in and ran toward the patrol car.
Upon further investigating, Scott confessed that he had been using methamphetamine and to being on parole.
Deputies searched Scott and the vehicle and found a bag of methamphetamine, coffee filters with residue and other drug paraphernalia.
Scott was charged with public intoxication, possession of a controlled substance, first degree, second offense, and drug paraphernalia possession, first degree.
There was an active Barren County warrant served on Scott for probation violation.
He was lodged in the Barren County Correction Center without bond.
Runyon was assisted by Deputy Kevin Wilson and Detective Ann Phelps.

Pursuit ends in man’s arrest
Christian W. Yaney, 22, of Noblesville, Ind., was arrested 5 miles east of Edmonton on Thursday on the Louie B. Nunn Parkway following a short pursuit.
Yaney was operating a 2008 Kawasaki Motorcycle when Trooper Bobby Maxwell observed him speeding and initiated a traffic stop, the Kentucky State Police said.
Yaney sped away and was apprehended approximately 12 miles later without further incident. He was charged with speeding, reckless driving, fleeing or evading police, wanton endangerment, first degree, carrying a concealed deadly weapon and no motorcycle operator’s license, the state police said.
Trooper Jamie Richard assisted Maxwell in making the arrest.

Firefighters respond to car blaze
Glasgow Fire Department units responded to a car fire in the 1100 block of North Race St. on Thursday morning.
Firefighters arrived on the scene about 9:30 a.m. to find smoke and flames billowing from the engine of a vehicle owned by Edward and Stella Davidson of Burkesville, according a department report.
GFD was able to quickly extinguish the blaze and contain it to the engine compartment.
No injuries were reported.
Firefighters were on the scene about 30 minutes. They were assisted by the Glasgow Police Department.
