Wreck leads to arrest By LISA SIMPSON STRANGE Glasgow Daily Times GLASGOW — A Barren County man was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol after Glasgow police responded to a single-vehicle wreck on Exit 14 of Cumberland Parkway at Ky. 90 late Tuesday night.
Colby N. Bradshaw, 19, of Tompkinsville Road, Glasgow, was taken into custody after he failed a field sobriety test at the scene, according to Officer Larry D. Martin II of the Glasgow Police Department. Martin said he observed an extremely strong odor of alcohol and that Bradshaw had bloodshot eyes and was unsteady on his feet. The officer reported the suspect allegedly said he had about three beers just before the wreck. An open bottle of alcohol and several beer cans were found in the wrecked vehicle. Bradshaw was driving a 2003 Dodge Ram 2500 pickup that flipped and landed on its roof shortly after 11 p.m. Tuesday. He allegedly told Martin he was making a right-hand turn from the parkway onto Ky. 90 east when he hit the median and tried to correct the vehicle as he felt it begin to flip. Three passengers in the pickup, Keifer C. McGuire, 17, of Austin, Chassity N. Broady, 18, of Glasgow, and Anthony D. Barbour, 18, of Summer Shade, were all injured. Members of the Glasgow Fire Department used the Jaws of Life to remove Barbour from the truck. Barren-Metcalfe Emergency Medical Service transported McGuire and Barbour to T.J. Samson Community Hospital. Broady arrived at the hospital by private means. All three were treated and released. Bradshaw was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol .08 or above, first offense (aggravated circumstance), possession of open alcohol beverage in motor vehicle prohibited and two counts of wanton endangerment, first degree. He was lodged in the Barren County Correction Center.
