POLICE BRIEFS: Three arrested by task force Staff reports Glasgow Daily Times GLASGOW — Three men were arrested Wednesday by the detectives from the Barren-Edmonson County Drug Task Force.
James Allen York, 26, 8123 Louisville Road, Bowling Green, and Andy Nathan Blythe, 26, 509 N. Race St., Glasgow, were taken into custody at Walgreens in Glasgow on charges of unlawful possession of a methamphetamine precursor, according to a task force report. The investigation then led detectives to 104D Bob White Way where a handgun was found at the residence of Eric Dewayne Wells. Wells, 35, was charged with possession of a handgun by a convicted felon. The three men all remain in custody at the correction center on $2,500 bonds. Glasgow man charged with DUI A Glasgow man was arrested Thursday after he crashed his car along New Bowling Green Road, US 68-KY 80, around 7:30 p.m. The Barren County Sheriff’s Department, Barren-Metcalfe Emergency Medical Services and South Barren Volunteer Fire Department responded to the scene approximately four miles west of Glasgow, according to a BCSO report. Preston R. Wright, 21, 3409 Park City Glasgow Road, was traveling west on New Bowling Green Road when he lost control of a 1991 Nissan Maxima, causing the vehicle to travel off the right side of the roadway and strike a utility pole before overturning and coming to a final rest on its top, according to the report. The utility pole was snapped into two pieces. EMS transported Wright to T.J. Samson Community Hospital for treatment of injuries, and upon his release he was placed under arrest by the BCSO for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs first offense. Wright was lodged in the Barren County Correction Center. Woman injured in crash A two vehicle collision Thursday morning resulted in the injury of a Glasgow woman. The Barren County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene on Tompkinsville Road, approximately seven miles east of Glasgow, shortly before 7 a.m. Frances K. Steenbergen, 57, of Glasgow, was turning into the Temple Hill School parking lot and did not see a vehicle driven by Pamela M. Jeffries, 42, of Glasgow, coming straight ahead, according to a BCSO report. Jeffries’ vehicle struck Steenbergen’s vehicle and spun out of control, hitting a stop sign and coming to a rest, according to the report.
