Eight people have been arrested in a drug roundup in Monroe County.
The arrests were the result of a year-long undercover operation that focused on street and mid-level dealers, said the Kentucky State Police, who headed up the investigation. They were assisted by police officers with the KSP K-9 Unit, the Pennyrile Drug Task Force, the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department, the Tompkinsville and Gamaliel police departments.
The roundup began Tuesday night and continued throughout Wednesday, according to Jesse Stockton, Commonwealth’s Attorney for Monroe County.
Arrested on sealed indictments were: Perry Graves, 52, Tompkinsville, two counts of trafficking in a controlled substance, first degree, (cocaine, second offense); Casey Ford, 28, Tompkinsville, one count of trafficking in a controlled substance, second degree, (drug unspecified); Jimmy Graves, 61, Bowling Green, three counts of trafficking in a controlled substance, first degree, (cocaine, second offense); Joseph D. Crowe, 24, Tompkinsville, two counts of trafficking in simulated or counterfeit controlled substance; Arlie Keith Cleary, 46, Tompkinsville, one count of trafficking in a legend drug, first offense, and one count of trafficking in a controlled substance, second degree, first offense and possession of marijuana; Lonnie Bryant, 46, Tompkinsville, one count of trafficking in a legend drug, first offense, and one count trafficking in a controlled substance, second degree (first offense), and Kathy Faulk-ner, 62, Tompkinsville, one count of trafficking in a controlled substance, second degree and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Eric Selz, 33, of Bowling Green, was at one of the residences when officers came to arrest another person. Selz was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, first offense; and providing a false name and address. He was wanted on two outstanding warrants from Kenton and Warren counties, according to a detective with Stockton’s office.
All were lodged in the Monroe County Jail, with the exception of Kathy Faulkner, who was lodged in the Allen County Jail.
Their bonds were set as follows: Perry Graves, $20,000 cash or $40,000 property; Casey Ford, $2,500 cash or $5,000 property; Jimmy Graves, $75,000 cash; Joseph D. Crowe, $5,000 cash or $10,000 property; Arlie Keith Cleary, $2,500 cash or $5,000 property; Lonnie Bryant, $2,500 cash or $5,000 property for each charge; Kathy Faulkner, $5,000 cash or $10,000 property; Eric Selz, $3,500 cash, according to Monroe County Jail records.
Casey Ford and Lonnie Bryant had been released on bond at press time.
Those arrested in connection with the investigation are expected to appear in Monroe Circuit Court on Nov. 19, according to the Monroe County Circuit Court Clerk’s office.
More arrests are pending.
“There is just a few more, but most of them have been taken care of,” Stockton said.
