Clothes near heater likely cause of fire

— Clothing that was too close to a bedroom gas heater may have been the cause of a Tuesday morning fire at 300 South Franklin St., according to Glasgow Fire Chief Bobby Bunnell.
Firefighters responded to a fire about 7:45 a.m. Tuesday at the home of Dustin and Kerry Moss and discovered flames and smoke coming from the front of the house. They extinguished the blaze in about 15 minutes, which was contained to the front porch, front bedroom and hallway. Firefighters were on the scene for approximately two hours.
Damage is estimated at $80,000 with the entire structure sustaining smoke damage.
No injuries were reported.
Glasgow Police Department, Barren-Metcalfe County EMS and the Glasgow Electric Plant Board assisted at the scene.
A punctured diesel fuel tank on a tractor-trailer resulted in the Glasgow Fire Department and Glasgow Emergency Management being called to a local factory Tuesday morning.
Units responded about 7:30 a.m. to a reported fuel spill at SKF, 1001 Happy Valley Road. They discovered the truck had run over some debris in the parking lot and ruptured a tank, spilling approximately 60 to 80 gallons of fuel, according to the GFD.
Plant personnel and responders contained the spill to the parking lot. State agencies were notified by the emergency management team, who also helped factory officials with clean-up efforts.
