A possible phone scam may be hitting Glasgow.
One Glasgow resident received a phone call from someone saying he was collecting money for the EMTs. He asked for a donation and when the resident said she was going to call the ambulance service to see if it was legitimate, he hung up.
Mike Swift, director of the ambulance service, said this is not a legitimate collection.
“There’s no fund drive or anything going on that we’re sponsoring or condoning,” Swift said.
Both Barren County Sheriff’s Department and Glasgow Police have not had any other complaints of this, but urge people to always be cautious when donating money over the phone.
