Published October 16, 2009 12:27 pm - Five people were injured in a three vehicle collision in Glasgow on Thursday. Three-vehicle crash injures five Staff report Glasgow Daily Times GLASGOW — Five people were injured in a three vehicle collision in Glasgow on Thursday.
At around 8 a.m. a 1998 Ford Mustang driven by Kailia Riddle, 16, of Jamestown, Tenn., was making a left turn from N.L. Rogers Wells Boulevard at the intersection of Wall Street when it collided with a 2002 Cadillac Eldorado driven by Thomas Walbert, 69, of Glasgow, according to a Glasgow Police Department report. Walbert had just come around a street sweeper in the right lane before the collision. The force of the impact caused Walbert’s vehicle to travel over a curb and grassy area and strike a 2004 Oldsmobile Alero driven by Heather Proffit, 19, of Glasgow, before coming to a rest near the yard area of BB&T Bank, according to the report. Walbert and Riddle both stated they each never saw the other vehicle. Riddle, Walbert and Proffit, as well as two of Proffit’s passengers, Brandon Riddle, 23, and Tyler Malone, 21, both of Glasgow, sustained injuries in the collision. A third passenger in Proffit’s vehicle and a passenger in Riddle’s vehicle were not injured. Barren-Metcalfe EMS transported Walbert and Kailia Riddle to T.J. Samson Community Hospital for treatment of injuries, and the three people injured in Proffit’s vehicle were transported to the hospital by private means. Hospital spokesman Bart Logsdon said each of the injured was treated and released.
