A Glasgow woman was injured Monday afternoon following an apparent dispute over a football.
Glasgow police arrested Orin T. Jackson, 35, of 607 B. Bunche Ave., Glasgow, after responding to a call of a fight in progress at the residence.
Officer Charles Eubank was the first to respond to the scene and reported that Jackson, who is 6 feet, 4 inches tall and weighs 435 pounds, was in an altercation with his sister.
Maj. Johnny Travis, along with Sgt. Charles Lowery, responded to assist Eubank and said Jackson had pushed the woman down and physically assaulted her. According to police, Jackson said they were fighting over a football.
The victim sustained face and head injuries including a baseball-sized knot over her left eye, bleeding from the mouth and scratches under her eye. She was treated and released at T.J. Samson Community Hospital.
The report stated Jackson also punched his nephew, a minor child, during the altercation. Travis said the boy had no visible injuries, but was also taken to the hospital.
Jackson was arrested on two counts of assault, fourth degree, and lodged in the Barren County Correctional Center.
