The injured party was flown by STATCARE to a nearby hospital for treatment. The accident occurred just after 1 a.m. The Barren County Sheriff’s Department investigated. A Glasgow teen and two young adults were injured in a separate accident on Thursday. The driver, 16-year-old Amy Ballard, and a passenger James Clint Abney III, 20, both of 331 Park Ave., along with Gerome Bernard Davis Sr., 18, of 1104 Columbia Ave., were transported by Barren-Metcalfe EMS to T.J. Samson Community Hospital for minor injuries. Authorities said the teens were traveling along Coral Hill Road sometime around 5 p.m. when Ballard lost control of the 1994 Chevrolet S10 pickup truck she was driving in a sharp curve. The truck left the road near the intersection of Coral Hill and Lecta Road, striking a mailbox. The vehicle came back onto the roadway before overturning several times and coming to rest in a residential yard, investigators said. A Glasgow woman was injured in another accident earlier the same day, according to Glasgow Police. Patricia W. Elliot, 64, of 406 Milton Ave., Glasgow, was transported by ambulance to T.J. Samson for treatment and possible neck injuries. Jacqueline K. Rouse, 27, of 10671 Old Bowling Green Road, Smiths Grove, told police she was traveling westbound on West Main Street around 3:30 p.m. when she moved into the turn lane to make a left turn into the parking lot of Tobacco For Less. Traffic in the eastbound lane was backed up past the entrance to the parking lot, police said. Rouse told authorities the driver of a large truck stopped to let her into the parking lot and then motioned for her to cross. When Rouse attempted to cross eastbound traffic, the motorhome she was driving was struck by a 1993 Pontiac Grand Prix belonging to Elliot, according to police reports. Elliot told police she was traveling eastbound on West Main Street, approaching the intersection with U.S. 31E when Rouse pulled in front of her. Elliot said she attempted to avoid the crash, but was unable to stop in time.
