Staff report
Glasgow Daily Times

GLASGOW

Three Warren County residents were injured in a head-on collision shortly after 2 p.m. Monday on Tompkinsville Road approximately four miles south of Glasgow.

Stephen Thornell, 33, of Bowling Green, was traveling south on Tompkinsville Road when he attempted to avoid a stopped vehicle. Thornell lost control of his car and traveled across the center line where it struck a vehicle driven by Hannah Minton, 18, of Smiths Grove, head-on, according to a Barren County Sheriff’s Office report.

Thornell and passenger Carolyn Stabler, 45, of Bowling Green, and Minton were all transported to T.J. Samson Hospital for treatment of injuries. Later, Thornell and Minton were transferred to University of Louisville Hospital by Barren/Metcalfe EMS. Stabler was released from T.J. Samson. Thornell is in surgery and a condition is not available. Minton was treated but not admitted.

Two of the victims involved in the collision were wearing seat belts. The report did not indicate which of those involved was not wearing a seat belt.

Deputy Steve Runyon investigated and was assisted at the scene by Deputy Wayne Branham, Detective Rusty Anderson, the Temple Hill Volunteer Fire Department and Barren/Metcalfe EMS.

Two injured in wreck on Ky. 90

David Simmons, 61, was attempting to back his vehicle out of his driveway along Burkesville Road when he backed into the path of a westbound vehicle driven by Corey Gulley, 19, of Glasgow. Gulley's vehicle, which was occupied by two other passengers traveled to the edge of the roadway and struck a mailbox before coming to a stop, according to a BCSO report.

Gulley and passenger Alana Gulley were taken to T.J. Samson Hospital by private vehicle for treatment of injuries, where they were later released. Gulley's other passenger, Cyndal Gulley, and Simmons were not injured.

Deputy Adam Minor investigated and was assisted at the scene by the East Barren Volunteer Fire Department.
