The Caveland Baptist Church building is only two years old and the church will celebrate its birthday this November – but its members and staff are already looking to expand.
“We’ve got generally about 450 to 500 people on Sundays,” said Melissa Hunt, administrative assistant for the church. “We can fit that many, but if you come into the church, you have to search for seating and some aren’t comfortable with that.”
Hunt said the church will begin offering a third service to remedy the problem on Oct. 5.
“That will give people another service and spread them out a little,” she said.
Hunt said the church plans to add on to the current plan sometime next year.
“We’re looking at building a new sanctuary and renovating the current one into a youth sanctuary,” she said. “We’re planning and working toward that, and we’ll see how God leads and go from there.”
