Emergency officials worked to free the driver of a Kentucky State Highway Department dump truck Thursday afternoon after the vehicle overturned. Operator James Cloyd was freed by the East Barren Volunteer Fire Department’s jaws of life and then taken to T.J. Samson Community Hospital by ambulance for minor injuries, according to the Barren County Sheriff’s Department. The truck had swerved to miss two stopped vehicles at the intersection of Ky. 90 and AM McKinney Road, causing the vehicle to hit a tree and overturn.
