The Community Medical Care center honored two volunteers Thursday evening at the annual appreciation day hosted by Drs. Bharat and Bharati Mody.
“Every year, we have so many volunteers who help out Community Medical Care,” Bharat Mody said. “But sometimes we have volunteers that go beyond the call of duty and do more.”
Michael Hutchinson, who works with the technical problems the center might have, was one of the volunteers of the year.
Mody said Hutchinson is a big help in running the center.
“He takes care of all of our computer problems,” he said. “He helps out so much.”
Hutchinson said: “I’m glad to work with them, they’re nice people and it’s a good cause.”
Sean Wilkerson was also named a volunteer of the year for fixing up CMC’s Web site.
“We have a Web site, www.communitymedicalcare.org, and that nice site is done for us by Sean,” Mody said. “You can find everything about our program on that site. I’m sure it’s helped a lot of people who didn’t know about us before.”
During the appreciation dday, the year’s partners, donors, patrons and ambassadors were also recognized.
Krissie Coe Fields, president-elect of the Glasgow-Barren County Chamber of Commerce, said she is proud of anyone who is involved with the program.
“It has been a wonderful asset to our community, it has helped so many people,” Fields said. “We get people that aren’t sure how to get things they need and we are able to refer them to Community Medical and know their needs will be taken care of.”
