MEETING: Glasgow City Council
ACTION: Unanimously passed the second reading of an ordinance closing the public way known as Walker Street, located between New Salem Road and Withers Street; unanimously passed the second reading of an ordinance amending the 2008-2009 fiscal year budget to receive from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet $2,111,000 for the purpose of widening and improving Trojan Trail and the two existing bridges to provide a three-lane roadway from U.S. 31E Bypass to Ky. 249; passed a resolution accepting the recommendation of the Joint City-County Planning and Zoning Commission concerning the zone change application of Mark Williams, relating to property owned by Larry T. and Geraldine Glass, then passed the first reading of an ordinance rezoning property located along North Jackson Highway, northwest of North Jackson Highway (U.S. 31E) and Country Club Road intersection and southwest of North Jackson Highway and Golf Course Estates intersection, containing 5.02 total acres, from R-1 (residential) to B-2 (business) classification; passed a resolution accepting the recommendation of the Joint City-County Planning and Zoning Commission concerning the zone change application of the Cecil Barton estate, then passed the first reading of an ordinance rezoning property located along Trojan Trail, east of Trojan Trail and S. L. Rogers Wells Boulevard (U.S. 31E intersection and west of Trojan Trail and Roseville Road (Hwy. 249) intersection, containing 26.292 total acres, from R-1 (residential) to B-2 (business) classification; passed the first reading of an ordinance refocusing the city’s efforts to enforce the placement of signage throughout Glasgow for both safety and aesthetic concerns.
PRESENTATION: Glasgow Assistant Fire Chief John Eudy was recognized for his 30 years of service to the city of Glasgow and the fire department; the members of the Barren River Bats were recognized for winning the USSSA 12 & Under World Series.
