A Cave City man was sentenced in three separate cases Monday in Barren Circuit Court while being arraigned on a fourth one.
Bradley Shea Byrd, 27, was sentenced to four years in prison for four counts of second-degree forgery, two years for flagrant nonsupport and 12 months for sexual misconduct.
The sentences will run concurrently for a total of four years.
In the forgery cases, Byrd was accused of writing checks and using someone else’s name, according to court documents. The total amount of the checks combined was more than $700. The Commonwealth did not oppose shock probation for Byrd.
For the nonsupport charge, court records indicate that, since May 1, 2005, Byrd owes approximately $1,246.
The sexual misconduct charge stems from an incident that occurred June 13, 2007.
Byrd was also arraigned on Monday for theft by unlawful taking over $300, which allegedly occurred on May 17 at an area Burger King restaurant.
He entered a plea of not guilty via his attorney, Greg Berry.
On July 16, 2007, Byrd was sentenced to a total of three years in two separate cases, with one being fraudulent use of a credit/debit card over $100 and the other being theft by deception over $300.
He was granted a request for probation on the condition he make full restitution in those cases.
Glasgow woman injured in collision
A two-vehicle accident Monday on New Bowling Green Road injured one driver.
Brenda G. England, 46, of Glasgow, was traveling east in a 1991 Chevrolet pickup truck when Jesse A. Powell, 19, also of Glasgow, crossed the center line in a 2002 Dodge Neon and struck the truck, according to the Barren County Sheriff’s Department.
England was transported to T.J. Samson Community Hospital for injuries to her back and legs. She was treated and released. Powell was not injured in the crash.
Both were wearing seat belts at the time of the accident.
Deputy Steve Runyon investigated and was assisted by the South Barren Volunteer Fire Department and the Barren-Metcalfe County EMS.
