Charles D. Hunter, 45, was arrested Wednesday at 111 Scott St., according to the sheriff’s department. He had three outstanding warrants in Barren County for contempt of court and failure to pay child support, as well a warrant in Warren County for contempt of court and possession of marijuana. Authorities said Hunter attempted to flee the scene, but surrendered when he saw a deputy carrying a Taser. Deputy Steve Runyon investigated and was assisted by Sheriff Chris Eaton, deputies Bobby McCown and Shannon White and Constable Buddy Houchens. Pretrail conference date set in murder case A Glasgow man charged with murder is scheduled to appear in Warren County Circuit Court on Sept. 8 for a pretrial conference. Troy Lee Rupe, 46, faces counts of murder, first-degree robbery and tampering with physical evidence in connection with the death of Thomas L. Ward, 38, also of Glasgow. Ward was found dead in a motel room at the Ramada Inn on Scottsville Road in Bowling Green on April 14. Two-car accident snarls morning traffic A two-vehicle accident this morning on L. Rogers Wells Boulevard delayed morning commuters for roughly 30 minutes. The accident occurred when a car driven by Troy A. Robertson, 27, of Cave City, struck the side of a vehicle driven by William A. Shepperd, 38, of Cynthiana, as Shepperd was attempting to turn into NCS Healthcare, according to the Glasgow Police Department. Robertson’s vehicle flipped and landed on its top. Both drivers refused treatment at the scene, the GPD said.
