Kentucky State Police and the Cave City Volunteer Fire Department responded Saturday afternoon to an accident with multiple injuries on I-65 at mile marker 55.
A 1994 Dodge bus was southbound when a rear passenger-side tire failed. The bus went into the median, where it overturned.
The driver, Joseph Robb, 25, from Clio, Mich., as and eight passengers: Bryce Agulier, 17; David Weber, 16; Max Misekow, 19; Sara Jolly, 19; Kayla Gebel, 18; Michael Fromwiller, 15; Mike Fromwiller, 40; and Megan Dawson, 17., were transported to T.J. Samson Community Hospital.
The group, with Messiah Lutheran Church, was traveling from Clio to New Orleans.
Assisting at the scene were the Cave City Police, Horse Cave Police and Fire Department, Barren-Metcalfe and Hart County EMS and Stat Care.
Crash leaves one injured
The Barren County Sheriff’s Office investigated a one-vehicle accident that occurred about 7:05 p.m. Saturday in the 300 block of Finny Road. Dustin Smith was southbound on Finny Road when he failed to negotiate a curve. The vehicle crossed the center line and left the road and hit a concrete culvert.
Deputy J.D. Walden is investigating the accident. He was assisted by the Barren-Metcalfe County EMS and Haywood Volunteer Fire Department.
Woman hurt in crash
Joanie Fergeson, 57, of Glasgow, was involved in a single-vehicle accident on Louie B. Nunn Parkway on Sunday.
She lost control of her 1998 Honda Passport after a rear tire blew out. The car went into the median and overturned several times before coming to rest on its roof.
Fergeson was taken to T.J. Samson Community Hospital.
Deputy Kevin Wilson investigated and was assisted by Barren-Metcalfe EMS and East Barren VFD.
Juvenile apprehended
The Barren County Sheriff’s Department assisted in the apprehension of a juvenile who escaped from a Simpson County Sheriff’s Deputy on Sunday.
The juvenile escaped about 11 miles west of Glasgow on Old Bowling Green Road.
The juvenile taken into custody without incident. Deputies also recovered approximately $1,300 worth of tools taken from vehicles on Denton Road, Oak Grove Church Road and Dripping Springs Road.
The juvenile faces a variety of charges in both Barren and Simpson counties.
