The owner is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of whoever stole a two-seater blue and white paddle boat from a pond on Burkesville Road. Two white males who appeared to be in their 30s or 40s were seen loading the boat into a small green truck. Anyone with information is urged to contact the sheriff’s office at 651-2771 or the anonymous tip line at 646-8771. BCSO investigating mail box damage The Barren County Sheriff’s Office is investigating and has three suspects of interest in several cases of mail box damage and vandalism in the Hiseville, Coral Hill and Lecta communities. These incidents took place Saturday in the early morning hours. Anyone that has had damage done to their mail box or other property during this time period is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 651-2771 and report it to Deputy Steve Runyon. Five in custody for meth charges Five people were arrested on the Fourth of July when police discovered a meth lab at a Hart County. Deputies with the Hart County Sheriff’s Office were attempting to serve an arrest warrant at 1468 Lester Gardner Road east of the Cub Run community when they smelled a strong chemical smell. The deputies investigated the scene and discovered an active methamphetamine lab, a quantity of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, said Sheriff Boston Hensley. Deputies arrested Danny Leo Hodges, 46, of 1468 Lester Gardner Road, Munfordville, and charged him with one count each of manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Hodges was also arrested on a Hart Circuit Court bench warrant for contempt of court, Hensley said. In addition to arresting Hodges, deputies also arrested the following: Lori A. Greathouse, 47, of 3206 Decatur Ave., Lakeland, Fla., manufacturing methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia; Robert A. Greathouse, 23, of 1468 Flat Rock Road, Cub Run, manufacturing methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia; Calvin T. Smith, 34, 220 Lester Gardner Road, Munfordville, manufacturing methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia; and James D. Staples, 42, 8755 Cub Run Highway, Munfordville, manufacturing methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia, Hensley said.
