MEETING: Barren County Board of Education
DATE: June 11, 2009
ACTIONS: The board voted to approve the minutes of the previous meetings, monthly financial reports, out-of-state and overnight student travel for high school national FBLA competition in Anaheim, Calif. and for a middle school science camp at Mammoth Cave, approved first reading of the Board of Education policy’s update for 2009-10, approved review of the board’s procedure’s update, approved summer fundraisers for 2009, approved the end of year closeout, the Lead Teacher revised job description, the bond for depository, a treasurer bond, the KECSAC memo of agreement for the Day Treatment Program, the District Comprehensive Improvement Plan, the classified/certified salary schedule, stipends and administrative index, approved a declaration of surplus property for a high school lawn mower and approved Superintendent Jerry Ralston’s contract extension. The board also approved change orders for North Jackson Elementary construction: to revise the canopy finishes for two exterior hallway doors at a cost of $5,255, to install additional sidewalks in and around the rear cafeteria door at a cost of $5,571, to install a temporary door due to a mistake in the sizing of a masonry opening at a cost of $1,810, to transfer cost of replacement door to Shaw and Jones Masonry at a cost of $1,810 and to install an additional coat of floor finish to reduce the amount of surface roughness in the epoxy flooring at a cost of $4,014.
