Three individuals were arrested Sunday afternoon for alcohol intoxication following a shoplifting complaint at Shell Food Mart on Columbia Avenue.
Members of the Barren County Sheriff’s Department responded to the Burkesville Road area to watch for a 2001 Jeep, which had fled the scene of the shoplifting before police arrived.
Deputies allege that when they tried to stop the vehicle, the driver, Matthew L. Martin, 24, of Edmonton, attempted to flee, but was stopped a short distance down the road.
Martin was taken into custody without further incident and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, fleeing or evading police, reckless driving and three counts of failure to wear a seat belt.
Two passengers inside the vehicle, Tosha J. Shaw, 28, of Glasgow, and Kimberly A. Houchin, 32, of Smiths Grove, were both charged with alcohol intoxication in a public place.
Additional charges may be pending.
Deputy Steve Runyon was the investigating officer and was assisted by deputies Matt Mutter and Kevin Wilson.
Horse Cave man arrested for drugs
A Horse Cave man was arrested Sunday on numerous indictment warrants for drug offenses.
Donnie V. Logsdon Sr., 49, of 782 Hatcher Valley Road, was charged with manufacturing methamphetamine; complicity to manufacturing methamphetamine; possession of anhydrous ammonia; complicity to possession of anhydrous ammonia; unlawful possession of methamphetamine; tampering with physical evidence; complicity to tampering with physical evidence; possession of drug paraphernalia; complicity to possession of drug paraphernalia; criminal trespassing; complicity to criminal trespassing; and persistent felony offender, according to the Hart County Sheriff’s Department.
Logsdon was lodged in the Hart County Detention Center in lieu of a $100,000 cash bond. Sheriff Boston Hensley and deputies Lanny Jewell and Jeff Wilson made the arrest. They were assisted by Kentucky State Police troopers Timmy Jewell and Jeremy Smith.
Woman injured in wreck
A one-vehicle accident Saturday on Donnelley Drive injured a Glasgow woman.
Miranda P. McCurry, 18, was traveling northbound on Donnelley Drive when her vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree, according to the Glasgow Police Department.
McCurry advised police that she was changing the radio station when she left the roadway. She was transported to T.J. Samson Community Hospital, where she was treated and released.
GPD Officer Jesse Barton was the investigating officer.
