Teen dies from injuries By GINA KINSLOW Glasgow Daily Times EDMONTON — A Metcalfe County teenager has died from injuries sustained in a single vehicle wreck Monday near the intersection of Ky. 640 and Old Glasgow Road.
Logan Taylor, 14, died Monday at Kosair Children’s Hospital in Louisville. He was a freshman at Metcalfe County High School. “He was a fun-loving student,” said Peter Distefano, assistant principal at Metcalfe County High School. “He was well liked by our students.” Leeanne Bell, instructional coach for the high school’s Freshman Academy, described Taylor as being “a little ball of energy.” “I’ve known him for several years. He was very energetic. He was very well liked by his classmates. They have been shocked by the tragedy. They’ve mourned quite a bit. Every time you would talk to different students about him they would come up some kind of Logan story,” she said. “We went through a whole state of stock and lots of tears, but then lots of laughter at the hilarious things he was involved with.” Bennie Stephens, director of Secondary Education for the Metcalfe County School District, said, “Logan had an easy-going personality. He was a fun-loving student really liked by his classmates. Our prayers and thoughts are with the family during this difficult time.” The high school made counseling services available to students Tuesday who were trying to cope with the loss of their classmate. “We set up counseling yesterday morning and allowed students, as needed, to come to the office,” Distefano said. Funeral services for Taylor will be at 1 p.m. on Friday at Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton, with burial in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday and after 9 a.m. Friday until the time for service. Taylor is survived by his mother and stepfather, Melinda and Tim Brewster, of Edmonton; his father, Chris Taylor of Glasgow; two sisters: Kim Brewster and Danielle Brewster, both of Glasgow; a brother, Jessie Taylor of Edmonton; his grandparents, Robert and Janette Deweese of Edmonton and David and Judy Taylor of Glasgow, and Roy and Pauline Brewster of Edmonton, as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. The wreck scene was investigated by the Metcalfe County Sheriff’s Department. No details about the wreck were available at press time.
