GLASGOW

A Glasgow man was arrested Tuesday for possession following a complaint of drug activity at his residence.

Timothy M. Neal, 45, of 1000 Stonehenge Apt. 32, was charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance and second-degree possession of a controlled substance, according to the Glasgow Police Department.

Neal allegedly admitted to having methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in his bedroom when officers arrived, according to police.

Officers report they saw pills in a plastic wrapper behind a recliner in the living room. Poison Control later identified the pills as hydrocodone, which Neal said he took from his mother.

GPD Officer Charlie Eubank was the arresting officer and was assisted by officers Bradley Lewis and Jessie Barton.

In a separate incident, three others were arrested on drug charges following a traffic stop.

Deputies with the Barren County Sheriff’s Department stopped a vehicle on Scottsville Road after responding to a complaint of a suspicious vehicle on Holder Road in the Austin community.

Once the vehicle was stopped, deputies said they saw several items – grow lights, an automatic timer, organic soil, plant starters and a small bag of marijuana – that could be used in an indoor grow.

Deputies accompanied the suspect, Michael F. Radtke, to his residence on Old Scottsville Road Loop 3. Two other subjects, James N. Laird, 18, and David E. Shackelford, 23, both of Glasgow, were at the home.

A search warrant was obtained and drug paraphernalia and marijuana were found, authorities said.

Radtke was charged with possession of marijuana, attempting to cultivate marijuana, first offense; expired registration and failure of owner to maintain required insurance. Laird and Shackelford were both charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

All were lodged in the Barren County Correctional Center. Deputy Steve Runyon investigated and was assisted by Ron Lafferty with the Barren-Edmonson County Drug Task Force, Sheriff Chris Eaton, Detective Ann Phelps and deputies Matt Mutter, Shannon White, Wayne Branham and Constable Buddy Houchens.
