MEETING: Tompkinsville City Commission
DATE: March 10, 2009
ACTION: Commissioners took the following action: approved an annual payment of $10,577.68 to Ford Motor Credit , which will come from the city’s 1 percent payroll tax for two police cars.
ITEMS TABLED: Commissioners tabled action concerning the inspection of a water tank on Capp Harlan Road at Belden Wire and Cable.
CLOSED SESSION: Commissioners met in closed session to discuss a personnel matter. Upon resuming their open session, commissioners announced there was no action taken. They also announced they found Police Chief Dale “Frog” Ford not to be at fault for stopping Jason McClendon on Feb. 25 to see if he had his driver’s license with him. However, they did find him at fault for having his son, an off duty policeman for the city of Scottsville, riding in the car with him. Commissioners issued a written reprimand and told Ford it would be placed in his personnel file on the condition of zero tolerance. Should the same thing happen again, his employment would be terminated.
