Plans set for spring cleanup By GINA KINSLOWGlasgow Daily Times Small items should be bagged or boxed. No loose items will be accepted.
Glasgow residents can place recyclable items at curbside with their garbage each week. The year-round drop-off schedule for recyclable items is: Hiseville Elementary School, Monday, 8 to 11 a.m.; Park City Elementary School, Tuesday, 8 to 11 a.m.; Cave City City Hall, Tuesday, noon to 3 p.m.; Eastern Elementary School, Wednesday, 8 to 11 a.m.; Austin-Tracy Elementary School, Thursday, 8 to 11 a.m.; Temple Hill Elementary School, Friday, 8 to 11 a.m.; Glasgow, Southgate Plaza, Saturday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Individuals can pick up trash along roadways during cleanup week. “The people who have an adopted highway program, (the state tries) to get those folks to do one of their cleanups that week,” White said. “Also, there’s a chance for a nonprofit group to make $500 if they want to take on a project.” White will need to approve the project and photograph it first. White, as well as the Chamber of Commerce, will have garbage bags and gloves available. They can be picked up at the Barren County Government Center at 117 N. Public Square and at the Glasgow-Barren County Chamber of Commerce at 118 E. Public Square.
