— Residents in Hart County are getting food and water, thanks to help from Hart County emergency management and the National Guard.
“Yesterday, we delivered about 200 boxed meals to people, today we’ll be delivering about 600 more,” said Kerry McDaniel, Hart County emergency management director.
“We have sent 100 cases of water to Cub Run Elementary School for when school does open,” he said.
The boil water advisory for the city limits of Bonnieville has also been lifted.
McDaniel and about 78 National Guardsmen will start branching out to help people today.
“We’re going to start helping people in outlying areas that border Hart County like on the fringes of Larue and Hardin counties,” he said.
Customers of the Edmonson County Water District are still under a boil water advisory, according to McDaniel.
Customers of Farmer’s Rural Electric Cooperative Corpora-tion are starting to come back online.
As of 6 a.m. today there were approximately 550 customers still without power in the northern and western parts of Hart County, a big decrease in yesterday’s number of more than 1,000, according to Jerry Carter, vice president of member and corporate relations of Farmer’s RECC.
“Currently, there are 133 field personnel in the storm restoration effort,” Carter said.
Crews are working to restore electricity as quickly as possible, but staying safe in the cold temperatures, according to Carter.
Farmer’s RECC advises that anyone who finds a down power line or pole to call the company at 651-2191 and to not touch the downed power line as they are still hot and energized.
