A Glasgow man was arrested on drug charges Friday after police responded to complaint of possible drug activity at his residence, Glasgow Police said.
Jason M. Patterson, 30, of 325 Park Ave., Glasgow, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, second-degree, (Hydrocodone), prescription controlled substance not in original container and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Police obtained consent to search after responding to Patterson’s residence. A search of the home led to the discovery of Hydrocodone tablets not in the proper container and for which there was no prescription and the body of an ink pen containing suspected drug resi-due, according to police reports.
Patterson admitted to using the pen body to snort Hydro-codone, police said. He was taken into custody and lodged in the Barren County Correctional Center.
Couple charged with shoplifting
In a separate case, police arrested a Cub Run couple Monday afternoon on multiple charges after responding to a shoplifting complaint at Kmart.
Larry W. Brooks, 31, and Crystal L. Brooks, 27, both of 12653 Cub Run Highway, Cub Run, were charged with theft by unlawful taking under $300, shoplifting, and disorderly conduct, second-degree. Larry Brooks was additionally charged with possession of a controlled substance, first-degree, drug unspecified, second offense, and felony possession of drug paraphernalia.
Police responded to the store in reference to a complaint by loss prevention security personnel about a couple allegedly taking merchandise from the store without paying. Police located the pair in the parking lot and found them in possession of the stolen merchandise, authorities said. Larry Brooks had in his possession a bag containing a powder-like substance believed to be methamphetamine, according to investigators.
The pair was lodged in the Barren County Jail.
