Barren hoops alumni game is Saturday
Barren County High School will hold a basketball alumni game Saturday at Trojan Gym.
Senior members of the BCHS basketball teams from 1974-08 are invited to take part in the game.
After the first game, there will be a heritage free throw contest for those who played at the county schools prior to consolidation in 1974.
Admission at the door will be $2 and donations will be accepted throughout the night. Proceeds will be donated to the Chris Martin Memorial Scholarship and special projects for the Barren County Alumni Association.
Senior players from the squads, along with the heritage free throw players, will be introduced.

Potential baseball and softball officials meeting is Jan. 14
The KHSAA is looking for softball and baseball officials for the upcoming season.
Interested individuals can attend an informational meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 14, at 7 p.m. at Monroe County High School. If you are interested in officiating or want to attend the meeting, call Mark Woodcock at 270-651-8777.

A&M-Commerce hires Morriss as head coach
COMMERCE, Texas — Former Baylor and Kentucky coach Guy Morriss was hired Wednesday to coach Division II Texas A&M-Commerce.
Morriss, who was fired by Baylor in November 2007 after compiling an 18-40 record over five seasons, was executive associate head coach for football development and offensive line coach at Kentucky State last season. He had a 9-14 record at Kentucky from 2001-02.
Morriss played in the NFL for 15 years, with the Philadelphia Eagles from 1973-83 and the New England Patriots from 1984-87. He was an assistant coach for New England and Arizona.
Morriss also coached at Valdosta State, Mississippi State and played college football at TCU.
