Burglary attempt investigated Staff reports Glasgow Daily Times GLASGOW — The Barren County Sheriff’s Department is continuing to investigate after someone attempted to break into McGuire’s Market on Roseville Road early this morning.
Authorities said the would-be burglar(s) attempted to gain entry into the store by breaking a window with a ball-peen hammer or similar object. The attempted break-in occurred sometime around 4:30 a.m. No other information was available at press time. Passenger injured in wreck An Oakland man was injured Thursday when the vehicle he was a passenger in struck a tree near Ky. 1297 in the Glasgow city limits, officials with the Glasgow Police Department said. Dustin Davis, 18, of 3826 Glasgow Road, was transported by Barren-Metcalfe EMS to T.J. Samson Community Hospital for treatment. The driver, Virginia M. Morrison, 36, of 238 Olive Springs, Bowling Green, told police she was traveling westbound on Ky. 1297 when a vehicle in front of her suddenly stopped in the roadway. Morrison attempted to avoid hitting the vehicle by swerving, causing her 1993 Toyota sport utility pickup truck to leave the roadway and to strike a tree, police said. Morrison and a second passenger, 14-year-old Crystal Morrison, also of Bowling Green, were not injured in the accident. All parties were wearing seat belts when the wreck occurred, according to police reports. Man dies in motorcycle accident A Rockfield man was killed over the weekend when his motorcycle careened out of control as he traveled along the Rockfield-Browning Road in Warren County, Kentucky State Police said. Tony Daniel, 49, was transported by ambulance to the Medical Center in Bowling Green where he was pronounced dead by Medical Center emergency room staff.
