Cattle association thanks supporters

On behalf of the Barren County Cattlemen’s Association, we would like to thank everyone that has joined our association. The membership year just ended for 2007 and Barren County is truly Number One, not only in number of cattle, but also in membership. Barren County ended the year with 621 members, the only association in Kentucky to ever top 600 members.

The Barren County Cattlemen’s Association won all the categories for state membership. Those categories are:

1. Most new members

2. Top recruiting county

3. Top county in Division 3 for largest percent increase in membership

4. The “Big Bull” Award – awarded to Kentucky’s largest local association.

The fiscal year for the Kentucky Cattlemen’s Association runs from Oct. 1 through Sept. 30. This means that members will be receiving renewal notices within the next two months. We ask and strongly encourage everyone to renew their membership in our association for the upcoming year. We want to continue to be that strong force representing the cattle industry in Barren County. We cannot be that force without a strong membership. We hope people will consider our association worthy of membership and will invite their friends and neighbors to join as well.

We also had several businesses in Glasgow and Barren County that joined our association. We would like to thank them and encourage other businesses to join as well. We urge cattlemen to patronize those businesses that have supported our association through membership and sponsorships for our activities. Look for their display of the Barren County Cattlemen’s Association Member sign and let them know how much they are appreciated.

Any individual or business seeking information about membership can contact Frank Rowland at 651-9190 or 646-0882. Let’s keep Barren County Number One in all areas.

Frank Rowland,

Membership Chairman
