Members of Boy Scout Troop 517 of Glasgow now have a pretty good idea of what contestants on Food Network’s television show “Chopped” go through when they are asked to create a dish using a mystery ingredient.
The Scouts participated in the annual Campfire Cookoff, a similar competition, on Saturday during the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Scout Celebration at the Tailwaters Campground in Allen County.
The cookoff has been part of the Scout Celebration for at least 10 years.
“It’s the biggest activity during the celebration,” said Jeff McBride, who volunteered to help with the activity. “If we didn’t have it, there wouldn’t be anyone here.”
