It’s been 27 years since Ronnie McDowell played in Glasgow. The singer, who Priscilla Presley said sounded like her late husband, Elvis, will perform in concert at the Plaza Theatre on Saturday.
“I’m looking forward to it,” he said earlier in the week.
McDowell emerged on the music scene when he cowrote “The King is Gone” following the death of Elvis Presley in 1977.
Some say McDowell’s ability to sound like Presley is uncanny.
Richard Young, rhythm guitarist for The Kentucky HeadHunters, who once toured with McDowell said, “Priscilla Presley once told me that listening to Ronnie sing Elvis songs reminded her of sitting by Elvis on their piano stool when they were young and listening to him sing.”
