Rock-n-roll played on bluegrass instruments is how one person once described the type of music the Lost River Cavemen play, but band members say their music is influenced by a variety of musical genres so it’s hard for them to label it.
“We don’t deliberately play a specific type of music; we just write what we feel and enjoy,” said drummer Joshua Riddle, who now lives in Bowling Green, but is originally from Glasgow. “Most of the songs tend to be in the Americana genre, but influences can be heard in our music from bluegrass, folk, singer/songwriter, rock-n-roll, blues, country, ragtime and punk.”
Lost River Cavemen formed in 2005 and over the years the band has gone through a few member changes. The current lineup has been performing together for about a year.
