GLASGOW — Celtic rock fans who trek to the Glasgow Highland Games this weekend will get to hear a couple of their favorites, such as Seven Nations and Father, Son and Friends, but they will also get to hear Rathkeltair.

This year's Games will be the first time for Rathkeltair (pronounced rath-KELT-ur) to perform.

“I've been looking to get them for three years now,” said Bob Harrison, president of the Games. “They put on a very good show. They are really just a top band. They have played every place from Toronto to Vancouver to New York to LA over the last couple of years and we are very fortunate to get them.”

Celtic rock bands have traditionally been a big draw for the Games.

“I think it's a grand attraction,” said Ernie Myers, executive vice president of the Glasgow-Barren County Chamber of Commerce. “Many of these bands, such as Seven Nations and Albannach, they all have a pretty wide following. To prove it, if you'll attend the Celtic rock concert, Rockin' Under the Stars, which occurs at 8 p.m. Saturday night, I think you will see.”
