ENTERTAINMENT BRIEFS: Pickin’ in the Park event set Staff reports Glasgow Daily Times TOMPKINSVILLE — “Pickin in the Park” will be at Old Mulkey Meetinghouse State Historic Site on Saturday in the meetinghouse yard at 6 p.m. The event is open to musicians and singers of all genres.
2010 season announced EDMONTON — Barn Lot Theater will announce its 2010 season of plays during its annual play parade on Oct. 17. This year marks the 30th anniversary of the theater. During the play parade, patrons will be able to purchase season tickets and receive a play parade only price. Anyone interested in attending, but who has not received an invitation is urged to call the theater at (270) 432-2276. JA to present ‘Gin Rummy’ SCOTTSVILLE — Junior Achievement of South Central Kentucky will host a live theater event on Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Allen County-Scottsville High School Auditorium. “Gin Rummy” is a fun play about decades of life involving seven women who have stayed connected through thick and thin. They meet weekly for a fun game of Gin Rummy while hashing through events in their lives. For live production fans this will be a must attend event! It is also a chance to support Junior Achievement in the Allen Co. classrooms. Tickets are available at J.M. Smuckers, US Bank, Edmonton State Bank, South Central Bank, Scottsville-Allen County Chamber of Commerce, or by calling (270) 622-0180 for more information. Movie night set at library It's Monday Night at the Movies and every third Monday of the month at the Mary Wood Weldon Memorial Library, 1530 South Green St., Glasgow at 7 p.m. Local film historian John Hitchcock will introduce each classic film, sharing history and movie trivia and will lead the post show discussion. Admission is free as is the popcorn and snacks. October's feature is director John Ford's best known film, “My Darling Clementine” starring Henry Fonda, Linda Darnell and Louisville native, Victor Mature as Doc Holiday.
